Facilities

College Building:
Our college is well equipped with sufficient number of fully furnished teaching class rooms for students, department rooms for faculty and administrative rooms for administration staff.
Teaching Pharmacy
College have developed, equipped, functioning pharmacy with college which is functioning as per CCIM norms. College Pharmacy, attached with the Department of Rasa Shastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana, is engaged in the production of various types of medicines to meet the requirements of IPD, OPD and Medical Camps etc. The Pharmacy is managed and supervised by HOD of Rasa Shastra Dept. Who is also involved in practical teaching, training and demonstration to UG students in order to impart knowledge about the preparation of different Ayurvedic medicines. Much importance is attached to maintenance of quality of ingredients used in various preparations. Medicines are prepared strictly according to Ayurvedic principles and methods especially those described in Bhaishjaya Ratnavali, Rasa Yoga Sagar, Siddha Yoga Sangrah, Siddha Bhaishjya Manimala, Yoga Ratnakar, Bhava Prakash, Sarangdhar Samhita, etc. In addition, certain highly effective  Churans, VatisYogas are also prepared according to the methods prescribed in Ayurvedic Scriptures. The Pharmacy is equipped with modern equipments and machinery. Traditionally used equipments are also available and are put to use, wherever necessary, in the method of preparation.
Herbal Garden
The College has itself owning an herbal garden in the same premises, where the college and hospital are located. A large part of college land is covered by this herbal garden. Garden consist more than 250 different types of Ayurvedic herbal plants/medicinal plants for medicine, demonstration and research purpose. The herbal garden of the college is spread out in an area of 9000 sq. mtr. of land where more than 250 rare species of medicinal plants are grown in the supervision of trained higher teaching faculties along with gardner and multipurpose workers with irrigation facilities. The demonstration room is also available with herbal garden. The herbal garden is very well useful for the students of all professional especially for the second year of BAMS students who have Dravyaguna vigyan as a prime subject and so many green herbs are used teaching purpose, treatment purpose in hospital, preparation of various Ayurvedic medicine in our pharmacy. For clear and easy identification nameplates of the plants with are placed to help the students and general public. The department of Dravyaguna vigyan has a prime role in conception and maintenance of the garden. New plants of different species are periodically added to the gardens.

Central Library:

A specious library room provided in the college building with numerous quantities of books, publications and magazines. It has wide space for reading and learning amenities for staff and students separately with more than 10240 books with Magazines and Journals of Ayurved and Modern both.

DEPARTMENT OF SHARIR RACHANA
Rachanasharir is a basic subject of medical science. It is called as Anatomy in modern medicine. The department is engaged in teaching of the fundamentals of Ayurvedic Anatomy i.e. Sira, dhamni Srotas Sharir, MarmaSharir (Vital points), Shavachhedan (cadaveric dissection) etc. It comprises of structural study as well as metaphysical study of human body. As per UG syllabus of RachanaSharir topics of similar content and Correlative study are explained to students. Practical and theoretical trainings are given to students to understand the external and internal structures of human body. To deal with this subject whole body dissection is performed on the cadaver/ dead body. Surface anatomy and internal anatomy of the whole body is taught to the BAMS students. Besides normal anatomy, applied aspects are also explained to the students.

DEPARTMENT OF SHARIR KRIYA
‘Human physiology’ or the study of functional aspects of human body is designed by the term ‘Kriyasharira’ in Ayurveda literature. Kriyasharira is the science of normal function of the body with special knowledge about different system of the body including the cardiovascular, respiratory, endocrine, gastrointestinal, reproductive system are examined using approaches ranging from molecular and cellular to whole organism levels.

Facilities in Department :

  1. Physiology laboratory with requisite space, capacity platforms with water supply, drainage and adequate lighting arrangement and necessary equipment as per CCIM norms.
  2. Departmental library available.

DEPARTMENT OF MAULIK SIDDHANTA
Ayurveda is ancient science of medicine in India since last Five Thousand Years. Despite of many advances in sciences. Ayurveda with its unique conceptual platform is not just a Science of Medicine but a unique Science of life. This Department deals with the study of Philosophical fundamental approach of Ayurveda. The name of the department itself suggests that it elaborates the basic concepts of diagnosis and treatment given in Samhita. Understanding of Samhita is key to the great success as a Vaidya.
Darshana Shastra and the scientific base laid by them enable to amplify and implement the concepts. Sanskrit is the basic subject which has been taught to the students through this department. The subject has been included in the curriculum as it is the language of the ancient Ayurvedic texts. It has been looked upon that the student must be well versed with the language so as he would be able to read and absorb the concept explained.

DEPARTMENT OF RASA SHASTRA & BHAISHAJYA KALPANA
Department of Rasa Shsatra& Bhaishajya Kalpana (Ayurveda Pharmaceuticals) stand as one of the important department of the Ayurveda. It deals with preparation principles of herbo-mineral medicine formulations using Mercury, various metals, minerals and also various herbs and its practical implementations. The department is imparting teaching both in theory and practical on the subjects of Rasashastra& Bhaishajya Kalpana to the under graduate students of this college. The pharmacy attached to Rasashastra Dept. is functioning under direct supervision of the H.O.D. of Rasashastra Dept. and administrative control of Principal of the college. It is manufacturing about  no.s of Ayurvedic medicines by classical methods. Medicines are being prepared using various raw drugs collected from local market and from our herbal garden.

Facility:

In the Dept. different types of formulations like Vati, Vataka, Churna, Bhasma, Kupipakwa,Rasaousadhi, Parpati, Pottali, Varti, Asavarishta, Arkaetc. are prepared. UG practicals are taken regularly. The department is well equipped with all instruments which are needed for UG practical. There is a well maintained museum containing all the specimens of metals, minerals, herbal drugs, pharmacy model along with lot of charts related to study syllabus etc. for the benefit of students. Department is attached with the Rashayanshala (Pharmacy), where more no of products are prepared presently which will be increased gradually for the benefit of SSSB Ayurveda Hospital attached with college.

DEPARTMENT OF AGAD TANTRA
Agad Tantra deals with study of the poisons, its action, clinical manifestation diagnosis of acute, chornic and cumulative toxicity and treatment. Poison refers to the toxins produced by toxic materials and living organism which are dangerous to human beings e.g. poisonous plants, heavy metal and its compound, the venom of snake, scorpion, spiders, bees etc., bacterial and non-bacterial food poisoning, artificial poison like insecticide, herbicide and rodenticide etc. It includes also occupational and industrial toxiciety, its clinical manifestation, diagnosis and management. It includes also acute, chronic toxicity of various addicted drugs, it's withdrawal and it's management. The Department imparts Under Graduate education and training to students in Ayurvedic classical references of Visa (poison), its detailed description, its classifications and examinations, diseases caused by it, principles of managements and preventive measures of the poisons, and legal aspect of medical practice, medical aspects of Law and forensic medicine.

DEPARTMENT OF DRAVYAGUNA
Dravyagunashstra is an important and integral system of Ayurvedic system of medicine. Dravyagunavignana is the Science which deals with drugs (Dravya), their properties (Guna) and action (Karma).It provides the principles of ayurvedic pharmacognosy and pharmacology with a special focus on identification of controversial drugs,adulterants and substitutes used in Ayurveda practices. Dravyaguna deals knowledge of nomenclature (Namjnana), pharmacognosy (Rupajnana), pharmacology (Gunajnana) and pharmacotherapeutics (Yuktijnana).

DEPARTMENT OF BALA ROGA

Bala Roga is one of the most important branches of Ayurveda. This Department is imparting teaching and training to Under Graduate. This branch deals with neonatal care, infant feeding, diet for newborn, daily and seasonal regime and also deals with diseases and disorders relating to children including nutrition of children, immunization etc.
During the year under report  Professor, Associate Professor,  Assistant Professors with other supporting technical and non-technical staff were working in the Department.

Clinical facilities/achievements:

The department is having well established infrastructure, and offers clinical services for a range of pediatric disorders by application of Ayurvedic treatment regimens through its well functioning following units/clinics –

i. General Pediatric O.P.D. -

In the Institute hospital experts of the department offer their clinical services every day.

ii. Swarna Prashan Unit:

The Department provides free swarna prashan on every pushya nakshtra days every month.

Child Community Health Programme:

The department is running community health project under which, regular health check up camps are organized at different villages and schools situated near the institute.
DEPARTMENT OF ROGA NIDANA AND VIKRITI VIGYANA
The Department of Roga Nidana and Vikriti Vigyana was recognized as a Under-Graduate Department. Apart from undertaking teaching, this Department is also involved in conducting various laboratory diagnostic investigations, pathological tests, ECG, USG, X-ray etc. for patients care. The investigations are conducted for patient care as well as research purposes of all the Departments. A well-equipped Laboratory is attached with this Department for that particular purpose.
During the year under report, Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professors with other supporting technical and non-technical staff were working in the Department.

Academic:

The Department intensively engaged in theoretical the practical training to the students as  per the syllabus and curriculum prescribed by the CCIM and Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Rajasthan Ayurved University.
DEPARTMENT OF KAYACHIKITSA
Kaya Chikitsa is one of the important branches of Ayurveda. This branch deals with various physical and psychological diseases like Fever, Rakta-pitta, Shotha, Prameha, etc. This Department is imparting Under Graduate and Training in theory as well as practical and Research on various diseases through Ayurvedic principles of treatment and therapy such as Panchakarma, Rasayana, Vajikarana etc. in accordance with the syllabus and curriculum prescribed by the Central Council of Indian Medicine and as adopted by the Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnana Rajasthan Ayurved University. This Subject is mainly concerned with the principles and methods of treatment of diseases.
During the year under report,  Professor,  Associate Professor,  Assistant Professors,  Lecturers with other supporting technical and non-technical staff were working in the Department.

Academic:

During the year, theoretical as well as practical teaching, training and guidance on Treatment in Emergency, Rasayan-Vajikaran, Manasroga and Panchakarma in the subject of Kaya Chikitsa were provided to BAMS students. Students were tought through Bedside Clinic as well as Demonstration methods which help the students to study the problems typically associated with a particular disease or disorder.

DEPARTMENT OF PANCHAKARMA
Ayurveda mainly treat the patient by either Samshodhana (Purificative / Bio-cleansing ) or Samshamana (Palliative) Treatment. Panchakarma which include five major procedures Vamana(Therapeutic emesis), Virechana(Therapeutic purgation), Niruha Basti(Therapeutic Cleansing Enema), Anuvasana Basti(Therapeutic Oil Enema), Nasya(Therapeutic Nasal Administration of Medicine) are mainly bio cleansing in nature. Apart from this several other internal and external therapies are administered in the department of Panchakarma for the treatment of various diseases mainly musculo skeletal , neurological, skin, metabolic, life style, Allergic , Respiratory and Psychiatric diseases are effectively treated by Panchakarma. This department renders service to the society by treating almost all type of patients. It also provides service as a preventive and health promotive medicine. It extends support to other departments for treating the patients through Panchakarma.The Department is engaged in the training of students and scholars at the level of UG. Program.

DEPARTMENT OF SHALYA TANTRA
During the year, theoretical as well as practical teaching, training and guidance in the subject of Shalya Tantra were provided to students of BAMS. There is present excellent atmosphere for the students to learn the surgical procedures inside the operation Theatre.
DEPARTMENT OF PRASUTI TANTRA AND STRI ROGA

Introduction:

The Department of Prasuti and Stri Rog is imparting Teaching and Training to Undergraduate BAMS Courses. The Prasuti Section of the Department provides Ayurvedic Medical Care and Treatment for various conditions of pregnant women like Garbhini Parikshana (Antenatal care), Garbhini Paricharya, Prasav Karma, Sutika Paricharya and Mahila Kalyana. The Department also performs various Ayurvedic procedures like Uttara Basti (Vaginal, Intrauterine, Intravesicle), Kshara Karma, Yoni Prakshalan, Pichu, Anuvasan Basti, Pottali etc. to Female Patients as a part of treatment. During the year under report,  Professor,  Associate Professor,  Assistant Professors,  Lecturers with other supporting technical and non-technical staff were working in the Department.

Academic:

During the year, theortical as well as practical teaching, training and guidance in the subject of Prasuti-Stri Roga were provided to students and scholars at the level of UG

DEPARTMENT OF SHALAKYA TANTRA

Introduction:

The Shalakya Tantra is an important branch of Ayurveda dealing with the diseases situated above the clavicle concerned with the disorders of Ear, Nose, Throat, Eye, Dental, Head and Neck. The Department imparts Under Graduate education with the aim of hand to hand training in examination, Technical training in diagnosis and management along with special emphasis on Ayurvedic treatment procedures like Kriya Kalpa, Nasya, Moordha taila, Eye Exersises, Basti etc along with surgical training in the concerned field. This department is also concerned with prevention of contagious diseases, Preventive and Promotional aspects of health, etc. in accordance with the syllabus and curriculum prescribed by the Central Council of Indian Medicine and as adopted by the Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Rajasthan Ayurved University.

DEPARTMENT OF SWASTHA VRITTA

Introduction:

Swastha Vritta deals with Ayurvedic lifestyle and maintenance of the health. Swastha Vritta mainly emphasizes on proper daily regimen as well as seasonal regimen, day-to-day living like morning routine, cleanliness, evening routine, night routine etc. including Sadvritta. The Department imparts in personal hygiene, prevention of contagious diseases, Preventive and Promotive aspects of health, etc. In addition to this, practical training in Yoga and Nature Cure is also given to students. There is a Yoga Unit attached to this Department conducting Yogasanas etc.
